Birmingham: Women

The nine-team Women’s field in Birmingham utilized a complex double-pool format that rewarded consistency—until Spice decided to play spoiler.

Iceni remains the gold standard, leading their pool with a comfort that suggests they haven't yet reached their final gear. However, the #2 seeds, Bristol, were handed a reality check by Spice. In a 13–10 thriller, Spice utilized a strong offence against the zone look from Bristol and managed to convert defence points when it mattered the most (Rewatch here). This upset has completely scrambled the projected Top 4 bracket, meaning Sunday morning’s final pool games will be played with "must-win" intensity. If things go to seed, we will see the Iceni vs Bristol game that everyone predicted in the final early, and Spice will likely get a rematch against KFUM Örebro.

Grenoble: Mixed and Women

Mixed Division

The Mixed division saw the fall of last year’s semi-finalist, Disconnection, who struggled with a depleted roster and fell to the bottom of Pool A. This left the door wide open for the local favourites, Monkey Grenoble, to seize control of their home turf. Pool B also went to the initial 3rd seed of that Pool, the strong club from Tenerife Guayota Ultimate, upsetting Reading and Thundering Herd. The Dutch side Remix provided the afternoon’s biggest surprise in Pool C, taking down both Hillhead (formerly Glasgow) and Hässliche Erdferkel (Rewatch here). Pool D was dominated by Frühmix with a strong performance against Sesquidistus to win the pool.

The Crossover round in the evening acted as a pressure cooker: Reading Ultimate managed to steady the ship against Flying Rabbits, Disconnection following suit with a win over Hässliche Erdferkel, while Sesquidistus won over Thundering Herd, and Newcastle Brown beat Hillhead to secure their bracket spot for Sunday’s run to the 3:35 p.m. Final.

Women’s Division

In Pool A, the story wasn't just that GRUT won, but how they did it. Facing the reigning champions, BFD Shout, GRUT found themselves in an early deficit. However, they demonstrated a strong composure, slowly dismantling the Shout defense to finish 14–10 (Rewatch here). While Tequila Boom Boom and BFD Shout spent the rest of the day punishing the lower seeds, the real battle was at the bottom: Lillipuc and West fought a desperate "game within a game," clawing for the 7-point mark necessary to ensure their results impact the season-long rankings.

In Pool B, YAKA and Mooncup looked like a tier above. By defeating Gentle, Zoom Rush signalled that the geographical map of European Women's Ultimate is expanding. Meanwhile, FABulous proved that Mooncup can be rattled; they held the Silver medalist of 2025 to a 6–6 deadlock before Mooncup pulled away for a 15–8 finish.

Hornsyld: Open

With 65 km/h gusts punishing any disc left in the air too long, the five-team round-robin became a test of short-game precision. KFK adapted best, keeping their throws low and their breaks short to remain undefeated. Hardfisch sits in a close second, setting up a heavyweight rematch for tomorrow. For Aarhus, Bora, and Eclipse, the day was a gruelling lesson in "wind-ball," where every upwind break felt like winning a championship.
