EUF General Assembly 2025: Decisions and Next Steps
The European Ultimate community closed the year with a strong message of unity, ambition, and strategic growth, as delegates from 18 national federations gathered online for the 2025 EUF General Assembly.
The meeting confirmed major long-term initiatives, reaffirmed Europe’s stance on inclusion, and introduced new development opportunities for the next generation of athletes.
Below are the three major announcements that set the direction for European Ultimate in the coming years.
Project 44: Europe’s most ambitious investment in women’s Ultimate to date
One of the central themes of the Assembly was Project 44 — a long-term, Europe-wide initiative to double the number of women’s athletes.
EUF presented data showing a concerning decline in women’s team numbers across the club season. Project 44 aims to reverse that trend by working hand-in-hand with national federations, clubs, coaches, and athlete communities to expand opportunities, reduce barriers, and strengthen pathways for female-matching athletes.
Project 44 will focus on:
growing the women’s division at national level,
supporting new and developing teams,
increasing visibility through EUF media and streaming,
improving coaching opportunities, and
expanding cross-border collaboration and knowledge sharing.
EUF President Andrea “Oddi” Furlan emphasised the project’s significance:
“Project 44 is not just a target — it is a commitment to the future of Ultimate in Europe. Strengthening the women’s division strengthens our entire community.”
EUF members reaffirm their gender inclusion policy
Another major topic was the vote on whether EUF should adopt the more restrictive WFDF transgender and DSD policy.
The federations voted clearly against, with 15 votes against and 3 in favour, meaning EUF continues to uphold its existing self-identification–based inclusion policy.
This confirms that:
EUF remains aligned with Spirit of the Game values,
EUF maintains an inclusive competition environment,
No new medicalisation, hormone testing, or exclusionary requirements will be introduced.
The EUF Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee highlighted the importance of stability, athlete safety, and preserving opportunities in the women’s division — fully aligned with the goals of Project 44.

Youth Conference 2026 announced: “Youth Ultimate Coaching as a Career”
A major step toward long-term athlete development was revealed with the announcement of a new European Youth Ultimate Conference, taking place at the end of EYUC 2026 (U17) in Vienna.
A first for EUF, the conference will bring together:
youth coaches from across Europe,
national federation leaders,
development specialists,
and guest speakers from successful youth programmes.
Topics will include
building sustainable youth structures,
making youth coaching a viable profession,
showcasing best practices,
and promoting more women coaches in Ultimate.
EUF will provide accommodation and meals for attendees, underlining the federation's deep commitment to youth development.
Development Chair Gabriele Sani said: “The youth are not just our future — they are our strongest opportunity for sustainable growth. This conference will help national federations and coaches accelerate that development together.”
Additional General assembly Highlights
While the three strategic priorities took centre stage, the Assembly also covered key updates across EUF operations:
Financial Stability
Despite a planned operational deficit as EUF invests in staff and development, overall finances remain healthy thanks to past surpluses and a newly secured Austrian state sport grant supporting staff costs through 2026.
Broadcasting Growth
EUF’s streaming platform continues its rapid rise:
528 games streamed in 2025,
70% of production costs covered by the EUF paywall,
equal coverage across divisions as part of EUF’s inclusion strategy.
EUCS & Competition Structure
EUCF 2026 will once again take place in Wrocław, featuring all divisions together over three days.
Division 2 will be discontinued due to low uptake.
A new consolidated EUCS Rules & Guidelines document will simplify communication for all clubs.
Strengthened European & Global Cooperation
WFDF and EFDF representatives attending the GA praised EUF’s growing competitiveness, organisational improvements, and strong partnership in tackling structural challenges.
A strong close to 2025 — and a clear direction for Europe
The 2025 EUF General Assembly showcased a united European community that is ready to invest boldly in inclusion, youth structures, and sustainable growth.
With Project 44, a confirmed gender-inclusive policy, and the 2026 Youth Conference, EUF has firmly positioned itself for the next decade of development.
