Broadcasting partnership with Solidsport for 2024-2027

European Ultimate Federation (EUF) and Solidsport are delighted to announce a broadcasting partnership for 2024-2027!

Following our open tender process, the EUF is excited to award the title of official broadcasting partner for the 2024-2027 cycle to sports streaming platform Solidsport.

Solidsport is renowned for its experience in helping emerging sport communities improve their approach to broadcast and digital content. With this collaboration, EUF aims to not only significantly transform how EUF tournaments are broadcasted but also to open up exciting opportunities to deliver more content. Through Solidsport's extensive network of partners, we aim to develop a financially sustainable ecosystem and extend our reach to wider audiences, making our events more accessible and less costly.

Andrea ‘Oddi’ Furlan, the president of EUF, said, “We're excited to announce a major step in the broadcasting of European Ultimate and providing our players cheaper, more accessible tournaments while still producing live and on-demand content. The partnership with Solidport provides us with the flexibility we need for our sport and spreads the cost of broadcast production across our whole community, not just the participating players, making it cheaper for everyone in the long run. We are aware it will be new for many, including us, but we are excited to test a new model for the benefit of our sport.”

We welcome the community to connect to the new platform for European Ultimate here: https://live.ultimatefederation.eu.

With the new partnership, we will:

  1. Move EUF events and content behind a paywall – Until now, the players have been covering the increasingly rising broadcasting costs through tournament fees. By moving the content, we hope to spread the cost across all viewers, relieving some of the financial burden for athletes to participate in EUF events.

  2. Expand the coverage – The partnership with Solidsport allows us more flexibility on the scale of production according to the size of events and provides opportunities to easily integrate more fields in EUF tournaments, as well as adding other events within the European ecosystem. Our vision is to work with local tournament organising committees to have as many tournaments broadcast as possible + increase the number of covered fields every year. We will partner with various production companies to deliver an entertaining product.

  3. Create a revenue stream – The model with Solidsport, allows us to directly raise resources for the development of EUF events and our sport.

Andreas Westerlind, Chief Commercial Officer at Solidsport, said, "We are thrilled to unveil our exclusive partnership with the European Ultimate Federation. We are driven to equip EUF with the essential tools to elevate their sport and streaming experience to unprecedented heights using our cutting-edge platform and leading technology.

Packages and mechanics on how the paywall would work will be announced at a later date. EUF is working on ensuring the packages are accessible and affordable to our entire community.

As EUF transitions to a new partnership, we would like to sincerely thank our former partner, ULTI.TV, for their work. Without their contribution, we would not be where we are today. We want to thank them for their dedication to EUF and to European Ultimate. Their efforts have challenged us to improve and increase our understanding of broadcasting.
