Official Statements
Andrea 'Oddi' Furlan, President of the European Ultimate Federation (EUF):
“The European Ultimate Federation is extremely pleased to invite all its members and their athletes to the 17th edition of the European Ultimate Championships. The city of Vichy and the organising committee led by Amandine Constant and Ludovic Romano of the French Flying Disc Federation succeeded in presenting an extraordinary proposal that allowed them to receive the bid for the execution of the EUC2027 against a very strong concurrence. We are very happy to come back to France for a major European championship after a longer time and to have such an experienced organizing committee, who was also involved in the organisation of the WBUC 2017 in Royan. Thanks to the excellent infrastructure of the city of Vichy, with all fields in the same venue, with a vast number of accommodation possibilities and a great offer of side activities, we are sure the EUC2027 will be a memorable event for all participants and spectators.”
Haude Hermand, President of the European Flying Disc Federation (EFDF):
“It is great to have France hosting two major European Flying-disc events in 2027! Before the European Masters Disc Golf Championships happening in Le Mans in August, we will pleased to go to Vichy for the European Ultimate Championships and witness the best ultimate Europe can showcase. Europe has been continuously improving at the elite level in the past years, and is now regularly challenging the best teams in the world. This European Ultimate Championship will hopefully provide the best level of play we have seen so far, and we can not wait to be there !”
Ludovic Romano, President of the French Flying Disc Federation (FFFD):
“We are truly honoured to welcome the European Ultimate Championships to Vichy from July 3rd to July 11th, 2027. Hosting this flagship event is a strong recognition of the dynamic development of our sport in France and of the commitment of our entire community.
I would like to warmly thank the European Ultimate Federation for the trust they have placed in the FFFD, in the local organizing committee, and in our ability to deliver an outstanding championship. We have full confidence in the strength and experience of the EUF and in our organizing team.
Together with our partners and volunteers, we are fully committed to making this event a success, both in terms of sporting excellence and in showcasing the Spirit of the Game.”
Amandine Constant, Local Tournament Director:
“We are delighted to welcome the European Ultimate community to Vichy in July 2027. With its outstanding sports facilities, extensive accommodation capacity and experience in hosting major international events, Vichy provides an ideal setting for the EUC2027. Our Local Organizing Committee is already fully committed to delivering a high-quality event, both on and off the field. Athletes, coaches, officials, and supporters can look forward to a warm welcome, excellent playing conditions, and a championship experience that sets a new benchmark for European Ultimate. Enhanced media coverage - with EUF support - will help showcase the event to wider audiences while contributing to the growth of Flying Disc in the local area and throughout France.”
A Legacy of Excellence: The History of the EUC
The European Championships have a storied history dating back to 1980 in Paris, where Finland took the inaugural title in the Open division. The Finnish Women’s team took the first Women’s title in 1982 in Austria, and finally, Great Britain won the first Mixed Title in 2003 in France. Since then, the tournament has evolved into a massive display of athleticism and "Spirit of the Game." Following the 2019 games in Győr (FRA Mixed runner-up) and the 2023 championships in Limerick (FRA Mixed Champion), the EUC returns to France, marking a full circle for the sport in the country that hosted its very first continental edition.
