EYUC 2021 U20 will take place in Malmö (SWE)

Dear EUF member federations,

the EUF is pleased to announce that the EUF 2021 European Youth Ultimate Championships (EYUC 2021) will be hosted in the city of Malmö, Sweden in July 2021 or early August 2021. The event will feature national Ultimate teams in the Mixed, Open and Women´s Under-20 divisions. The date is not yet defined as it needs to be coordinated with the WU24, WUGC and U17 EYUC events. We hope the date can be set within the next six weeks.

The successful bid came from the Malmö All Stars Ultimate club team in cooperation with regional teams and supported by the Swedish Ultimate Federation (SUF). We are happy to be able to stay on the same venue and apply the same event concept as originally planned for the cancelled WJUC 2020. The Tournament Organizing Committee (TOC) is headed by Mattias Ahlgren and Albin Wiberg with significant experience in hosting and participating in national and international Ultimate events. The TOC has been able to win continued support and cooperation of the City of Malmö and the Region of Skåne to host this premier Ultimate event.

By awarding the event to Malmö, the TOC will be able to move the hotel reservations made for the WJUC and apply at least some of the accommodation down payments to the 2021 event.

Though it is currently very difficult to estimate team participation, the EUF expects around 40 teams to compete in the event. The last EYUC took place in Wroclaw Poland with 35 U20 teams.
