EUC2019 will take place in Györ (HUN) from June 29th to July 6th 2019 in the divisions Men, Women, Mixed

Dear European Ultimate Community

It’s a great pleasure to inform you that the EUF board assigned the organization of the European Ultimate Championship 2019 (EUC 2019) to the Hungarian Federation and the City of Györ.
The EUC2019 will be played in the divisions Men, Women and Mixed and will start on June 29th with the opening ceremony and will end on July 6th with the finals and the medals ceremony. As announce in 2016, the masters divisions will be played in a separate event.
The previous edition took place in Copenhagen in 2015 and has been attended by 17 Men, 19 Women and 18 Mixed National Teams. Thanks to its location and the great improvement in terms of quantity and quality of teams, especially in the Eastern European Countries, it is expected that the EUC2019 in Györ will have about 70 national teams in total.
Györ is the second largest city in Hungary and is very well connected to all European Countries thanks to its vicinity to the Airports of Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest. The city hosted in 2017 the European Youth Olympic Festival and the organization committee will offer logistical support and know-how to the Hungarian Federation.
The EUF Board is really pleased to have again, after the EUC 2011 in Maribor, a major event in Central Eastern Europe, which pushes forward the strategic goal of expanding Ultimate in the eastern European Countries, reducing their travelling costs and so increasing the number of players that can attend the competition.
The Hungarian Federation shows a great engagement to work with EUF, the Hungarian Sport Ministry and the City of Györ to promote Ultimate and to make out of the EUC2019 an unforgettable event for the players and a milestone in the Hungarian Ultimate Sport history”.
It’s a great honor and pleasure for us to get the right to organize the biggest Ultimate event of the continent!”, says Zoltan Erdösi, president of the Hungarian Frisbee Sport Federation (Magyar Frizbi Országos Sportági Szakszövetség) and designed EUC2019 Tournament Directory. “We see the organization of this European Championship not only as award, but also as a responsibility. On the one hand, because we would like to produce a sport event that really meets all requirement. On the other hand, this event has to be a catalyst for Ultimate Frisbee as a sport in Hungary and in the Central European Region.

Looking forward to welcoming you in Györ in summer 2019!
